International Swimming Hall of Fame

The International Swimming Hall of Fame is located on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, only two blocks South of Las Olas Boulevard, between IntraCoastal Waterway and A1A. It a fitting location for the  dedication to the sport, in a state rich with swimming tradition and a city that loves the water. The Hall of Fame promotes all benefits and the full importance of swimming from recreational to competitive. The core of The International Swimming Hall of Fame’s exhibit is an eclectic shrine dedicated to the history, and recognition of the famous swimmers, divers, water polo players, synchronized swimmers. The institution also has programs to educate children on swimming safety, swimming health benefits and the sport in general.

Also located inside the “Hall” is The Henning Library and Archive which  houses archival materials from over 150 aquatic and other sports. Extraordinary treasures of the collection are found in the R. Max Ritter Rare Book Room, with over 400 pre-1900 vintage volumes, 310 scrapbooks with the pictures and memorabilia of the past century, and 114 unique aquatic sports magazines live.
